Baking made fun for kids in new TV show

Baking with the Rey’s to air on SABC 3 from 4 April

Baking is a craft that is handed down from one generation to the next and a beautiful way to pass on family traditions. However, many parents struggle to find recipes that are easy enough to spark an interest and get their children started in a way that feels rewarding. Now, a new television show will do exactly that.

Baking With The Rey’s is a ten-part cooking series filmed in the family kitchen of multi-platinum award-winning South African House musician, Holly Rey. Premiering on Tuesday 4 April at 4:30 PM on SABC 3, this series that aims to trigger a love for baking, will show you how to create fun activities for kids while baking healthy delicious snacks and lunch box fillers for the family.

Although new to the foodie scene, Holly hails from a long line of food foodies. Having grown up close to her grandmother’s apron strings, there is not a lot that this delightful personality does not know about baking and preparing good, wholesome home-cooked meals. She is also the adoring big sister to Mimi Rey, who features as her co-host in the series.

Together, their fun and often comical approach to making child-friendly, quick and easy bakes, makes this delightful pair the perfect hosts for a series that focuses on getting kids into the kitchen and enjoying every minute of family time. From cupcakes to apple doughnuts, rainbow fruit pops, vegan meringues, to cheese straws and more, Baking With The Rey’s combines the perfect ingredients to make baking simple for kids, but most importantly, delicious!
