“ONE was inspired by a deep sense of longing,” says Sasha. “The feeling was wanting to reach out to someone but also doubting myself. What if?”
Drawing from a real-life connection that has stayed with her for several years, the song explores the delicate balance between hope and uncertainty.
“There’s somebody I’ve liked for a few years,” she explains. “I’ve always wondered if it went further, what would it mean?”
While deeply personal, ONE leaves room for listeners to find their own experiences within the lyrics, making its message both intimate and relatable.
Released alongside the single, the official music video expands on these themes through stunning visuals and cinematic storytelling. One of the world’s leading horseback archers, Sasha is currently South Africa’s top-ranked female competitor and ranked second in the world. She is also passionate about developing the next generation of talent, coaching young riders from underrepresented communities who are breaking new ground in equestrian archery.
For Sasha, including horses in the music video was a natural extension of her identity and the story she wanted to tell.
The release of ONE also marks another significant step in her artistic evolution. As her songwriting develops, Sasha has found herself becoming increasingly open and vulnerable in her music.
“It represents growth, and with each song I write I dive deeper into who I truly am as a songwriter and person,” she says.
The creative process was both challenging and rewarding.
“The writing process was more difficult than my other songs because it felt more personal, yet it was like lifting a weight off my shoulders as I wrote the lyrics,” Sasha shares. “The recording process really made me feel alive.”

“I’d describe the sound of ONE as empowering folk-pop that makes you want to run in a field,” she says.
Following the success of previous singles Umoya and Mountain Breeze, ONE signals the beginning of an exciting new chapter.
“Every song in my mind is connected one way or another, and this is definitely the start of a new era of music,” Sasha explains.
