Just Go.” says The Something Guy. “Pretty Woman delivers exactly what audiences hope for: charm, sparkle and a WHOLE lot of heart,” gushes Sam Says while pARTicipate comments on the “….lovely injections of humour and energy”. Social media is bursting with accolades such as  “…it’s glossy, loud in the right places, and engineered to send audiences home smiling”  reports Step Out Gauteng with Tshiamo Juneil Morare claiming that Pretty Woman is “ … such a cool, fresh, and interesting adaptation of a movie I’ve always loved.” Stage & Screen best sums up Pretty Woman as “A fresh take on a familiar story, brought to life with warmth, humour and standout performances.”

Pretty Woman: The Musical’s remarkable all-South African cast includes Naledi Award winner, Leah Mari (My Fair Lady, CHICAGO The Musical) in the role of Vivian Ward.  The versatile Christopher Jaftha, who recently starred in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat plays the suave Edward Lewis. Kit De Luca, Vivian’s best friend, is played by Thuto Lesedi Gaasenwe (For Coloured Girls), with Tiaan Rautenbach (MAMMA MIA!) starring as Happy Man, the hotel manager and the store manager. Daniel Conradie (My Fair Lady) plays Edward’s lawyer Philip Stuckey. Audiences are loving the energetic, enthusiastic “Guilio” the bell hop played by Bo Molefe.

Pretty Woman: The Musical is the classic ‘90’s story of the unlikely romance of the rough-edged Vivian and refined businessman Edward based the famous film starring Julia Roberts and Richard Gere). It is uplifting and full of joy, combining love, laughter, nostalgia and toe-tapping songs to make each performance a fun experience down memory lane.

The show’s music, including powerful solos like “Freedom” and “I Can’t Go Back” and showstopping ensemble pieces like “Welcome to Hollywood” and “Together Forever” written by rock superstar Bryan Adams (who watched the show’s first Johannesburg show) and his longtime songwriting partner Jim Vallance delivers a dynamic, emotionally charged score that perfectly captures the romance, glamour and energy of the story.
