At just 15 years old, American alt-pop artist Piper Connolly is already proving she’s not simply writing songs about growing up – she’s living them.

Behind the scenes, one of South Africa’s most successful musical exports played an important role in bringing that vision to life.
The song was co-written with acclaimed South African-born producer and songwriter Esjay Jones, whose career has taken her from South Africa to Los Angeles, collaborating with internationally renowned artists and producers. What began as a single writing session quickly evolved into a creative partnership that would shape Piper’s entire upcoming EP.
Piper says:
“I first connected with Esjay during a writing session, and the connection was immediate. It felt like we were speaking the same creative language. She never tried to change who I was as an artist – she helped me sharpen my vision and push the songs to a deeper level.”
