Reality Series In Die Sop is getting a makeover

Last year, kykNET announced that the popular reality series In Die Sop is getting a makeover. The focus in the fourth season shifts from restaurants to guest houses. In Die Sop: Gastehuisrevolusie, which starts on 23 April, shows the transformation of 13 guest houses – from Bethulie to Worcester, and further north, further south, and also at all sorts of lovely places in between.

The presenter of the series is Janie du Plessis, who made quite a name for herself in the 80s. As the presenter of popular magazine programmes for young people, such as Teletien and Graffiti, she was a very popular cover model. At the time, she also appeared alongside Arnold Vosloo in the hit films Boetie Gaan Border Toe (1984) and Boetie Op Manoeuvres (1985).

The formidable task team consists of a familiar member of the In Die Sop team, Misi Overturf, and two other interior designers, Griki Lubbe and Willus Bosch. These three take turns to provide assistance to the guest houses, while other experts offer business or marketing advice.

How does Janie ultimately feel about the process they undertook?

“The difference we made in people’s lives deeply touched me. It was an exceptional experience, and I feel very privileged to have been part of this programme.”

In Die Sop: Gastehuisrevolusie premieres on Thursday, 23 April at 20:00 on kykNET (DStv Channel 144) and will also be available on DStv Stream and Catch Up.
