Juan Boucher releases special father-daughter single!
“I’d like to dance to this song with my daughter at her wedding someday,” Juan Boucher says about the inspiration behind his brand-new single, Dogter (daughter), which will definitely have special meaning for other fathers and daughters too in the future.
This song, that speaks to the hear from the very first note, was written by the artist himself and produced by Tertius Human.
“There are many songs with beautiful titles, but the title Dogter is so beautiful on its own. Every woman, mother, grandmother and grandchild are someone’s daughter, and this song explains it so beautifully,” he shares. “It’s very unique, because nothing like this has ever been written before and it’s a great privilege for me to be able to sing it and dedicate it to my own little girl.”
A nostalgic music video of the track, which was filmed all over the country, will also be available soon and the singer is very excited to share this concept, which he conjured up with Quintin van der Merwe, with fans.
“With this video, we would like to capture how much fathers love their daughters,” he says.
After more than a decade in the entertainment industry, Juan has become a household name amongst Afrikaans music enthusiasts. The acclaimed artist, from the Vaal Triangle, is known for his soothing voice, catchy lyrics, energetic melodies and entertaining stage personality.
He boasts an impressive CV that includes more than eight studio albums, numerous radio hits, and various music awards. Juan is also the proud owner of his own fashion label, Bouch Clothing, and author of the book Die stories agter my potlood.
He recently bought property in St. Helena Bay with his wife, where he wants to open a new restaurant.
When he is not on stage, he acts as an ambassador for a house of safety for homeless babies and enjoys spending time with his friends and family. He is also looking forward to seeing Bruce Springsteen live in concert in Ireland next year.
