Comics’ Choice Comedy Awards appoints The Platinum Club

The Comics’ Choice Comedy Awards has announced that it has appointed The Platinum Club to handle all its public relations engagements as it enters a new chapter in its legacy. The 10th edition of the awards is set to take place in April 2023 after a three-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic.

The award show says that it has a (slightly) new name and is celebrating the best in the local comedy space.

At the helm of the awards is the entertainment marketing agency One-eyed Jack, the founders of the DStv Content Creator Awards and now the new custodians of the Savanna Comics’ Choice Comedy Awards.

“Working on the Comics’ Choice Comedy Awards is a full-circle moment for me,” The Platinum Club MD El Broide says. “I covered these prestigious awards as an entertainment journalist at the start of my career. Then, I moved on and opened The Platinum Club, which celebrates its ninth birthday this year, and landing these awards as a client is certainly a career highlight for me.”

Broide concludes,

“I am thrilled to be bringing The Platinum Club’s out-of-the-box thinking and creative approach to public relations to a brand like the awards, which also prides itself on doing things differently.”

The Platinum Club is a boutique PR and digital agency. It specialises in the following:

  • entertainment
  • lifestyle, and
  • travel PR.

The agency has also worked on the inaugural DStv Content Creator Awards as its public relations firm. Other clients include:

  • Jacaranda FM
  • KLM Royal Dutch Airlines
  • Air France
  • Warner Music Africa, and
  • 180 Lounger.
