Rogue Metro Unit
A group of police reservists is offered what looks like a chance of permanent employment. Instead, they spend years blurring the lines in crime enforcement. With minimal training and no formal contract, the “volunteers” were issued with firearms and uniforms, and sent out on the job with a metro police department. It didn’t stop there: they effected arrests, worked with crime intelligence, and provided security to VIPs. Then the unit was quietly disbanded. But now, testimony from the Madlanga Commission that the unit was operating illegally could have dire consequences for criminal convictions. Carte Blanche investigates the bizarre story of a rogue police unit and the fallout from its years of underground operations.

\Yeoville Dinner Club
He’s a chef and a storyteller, and he’s combined his passions to take guests on a journey through Africa. In the heart of Joburg lies a hidden gem: a place where strangers meet, share a meal, and create memories. Today, in the face of neglect and crime, it’s hard to imagine that Yeoville was once a hub for music and art. But underneath the chaos is an enduring reputation for diversity and vitality – and one man is tapping into that spirit. Strangers share a table as Sandile “Sanza” Tshabalala serves up dishes and stories from all over the continent. It’s not just about sharing a meal: it’s a story about people coming together to experience Africa through food, music and art.
