Cancellation of Johannesburg dates for Music Of The Night, 17 – 20 March 2022.
It is with the deepest regret that the producers of Music Of The Night, Ticket to the Moon Management, have needed to take the very difficult decision to cancel their 4 shows in Johannesburg, meant to be taking place at The Dome on Melle (NSA) from 17 – 20 March 2022.
When the season was finalised in 2021, no-one could’ve predicted the strange weather patterns or had an expectations of the ongoing and unprecedented rainy season that Johannesburg has experienced over the past few months.
While rain is always welcome in our country, it has played havoc in the planning for these Johannesburg dates and the knock-on effect it has had in the increased audience booking hesitancy, with the threat of more rain expected for this weekend.
It’s particularly devastating following a successful season at the Centurion Theatre in February/early March which was received with great reviews by media and audience alike.
Nevertheless, this added risk of high possibilities of further rain over all performances, added to that expected plummeting temperatures of 15 degrees, along with audience hesitancy in currently attending outdoor evening shows, has ensure the risk for the producers is sadly too high a risk to take, without there being an impact on all parties involved.
With this in mind, Ticket to the Moon Management has taken this difficult decision to cancel the dates in their entirety, with immediate effect.
Computicket will be in contact with those members of the public who have already booked, to facilitate a refund.
The producers wish to apologise for any inconvenience and disappointment caused, and will continue to look at further possibilities to re-stage Johannesburg at a later date, once theatres are back to being fully open with 100% capacity possible.
