The BIG DAY is here! On Sunday, 7 July, M-Net 101 viewers will find out who the winner of the electrifying third season of The Voice South Africa. In the running are crooner Eon le Roux and “African princess” Siki Jo-An both from Port Elizabeth, as well as the soulful Soné Joubert, rocker Tasché Burger and the charismatic PJ Twins, all from the Mother City.
But the race is not just between the Eastern and Western Cape. This time all four of the show’s esteemed coaches are well represented by incredibly talented singers in the finale. Riky Rick is counting on Eon, LIRA is backing the PJ Twins while Francois van Coke is cheering on Tasché. Coach Riana Nel is the only coach with two talent on stage – Soné and Siki Jo-An. Which coach will garner the bragging rights for mentoring the new Voice of South Africa?
While the audience will be awaiting the results, some legendary and well-loved local vocalists have been lined-up to perform duets with the Top 5. For the first time in her illustrious career, Afrikaans music legend Laurika Rauch will be on stage at a live television singing contest, breathing new life into her iconic song, “Stuur Groete aan Mannetjies Roux” with Soné Joubert.
South Africa’s Queen of Afro-jazz, Judith Sephuma, will be joining Siki Jo-An with an apt song for two big voices, “I’m Every Woman” by Chaka Khan. Season 2’s Caroline-Grace Brüssow and Eon le Roux are ready to raise the roof with Elton John’s “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down On Me.”
Singer extraordinaire Timothy Moloi and The PJ Twins are set to go for gold with Luther Vandross’ “Impossible Dream”, while Tasché Burger and her coach, Francois van Coke, will be blending their voices in their version of “Toe Vind Ek Jou”, by Francois and another great rockstar Karen Zoid.
Fans can also look forward to some goose-bump-inducing solos from the talent, as they get whittled down to the winner, as decided by the voting public earlier this week, during the show. And to top it off, Jo Black and Roan Ash, who are currently both dominating the South African music scene, will show off their vocal kills.
The winner of the Voice SA, as determined by the voting public, will walk – or rather drive off with:
- a Toyota RAV4,
- a Telkom tech bundle with a Huawei P30 Pro,
- a Tab M5 Lite, a router, and
- a Huawei Watch GT, Telkom data, and an Anti-Theft Backpack; and
