Hospital Drama Favourite, The Resident’s Fourth Season To Premiere On Fox This February.

Every crisis has a front line, Covid-19 driven premiere as popular cast returns.

Now entering its fourth season, The Resident continues to shine a light on the daily heroism of today’s health care workers. The provocative medical drama follows the doctors and nurses at Chastain Memorial Hospital, as they face personal and professional challenges and fight for their patients’ health. This fourth season of this audience favourite premieres on Fox (DSTV 181, Starsat 131) on Tuesdays at 20:45 CAT from 2 February 2021.

This season, a glimpse at the harrowing nightmare that was Covid-19’s relentless grip on urban hospitals will give way, as the series jumps forward to sunnier days. With black-hearted Red Rock Mountain Medical figurehead Logan Kim ousted, the rudderless hospital finds its new CEO in star orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Kit Voss (Emmy Award and Golden Globe nominee Jane Leeves), when she spearheads Chastain’s transition from private to public hospital. Now, after three seasons of bucking the system, the doctors have a seat at the table – and will fight to fix the broken machine from the inside.

On the personal side, Dr. Conrad Hawkins (Matt Czuchry) and nurse practioner Nicolette Nevin (Emily van Camp) tie the knot in an intimate and beautiful wedding, strengthening their already powerful bond. Dr. Randolph Bell (Bruce Greenwood) finds himself mining his own past to find his estranged former stepson, elite plastic surgeon Dr. Jake Wong (Conrad Ricamora). Bell attempts to bring Dr. Wong to Chastain to increase the number of world-class surgeries at the hospital and to repair their complicated past.

Additionally, as star surgical resident Dr. Mina Okafor (Shaunette Renée Wilson) and her brilliant mentor, Dr. AJ Austin (Malcolm-Jamal Warner), grow closer than ever, they must learn to maintain a professional relationship within the walls of the hospital.

“The fourth season of The Resident kicks off what is sure to be a bumper year of television for Fox fans, with a generous dose of premium genre-defining series. We look forward to more exhilarating highs and lows as the team at Chastain Memorial Hospital face the realities of modern day medicine” said Evert van der Veer, VP, Media Networks, The Walt Disney Company Africa.

While The Resident premieres on Tuesdays at 20:45, Grey’s Anatomy, enters its sixteenth season on the channel on Wednesdays in the same time slot from 3 February 2021.
