Die Brug: Will the winner take it all?
Spoiler Alert: Do Not Continue Reading If You Haven’t Watched Episode 9 Yet
It’s one thing to say you’re going to do something, but to actually follow through is quite another. In episode 9 of Die Brug, the remaining players know the endgame is approaching fast. They realise all too well that they won’t win money if they don’t work together and finish building. The big question among the players, however, is increasingly whether the winner will share the prize money or not. The fact that Geo and Robert have already claimed R100 000 of the prize money is still their secret.
This episode kicked off with Larry and Melanie having the difficult task of removing Jamie from the game. “I did my best,” an emotional Jamie said. “Thank you for allowing me to build my own inner bridge.” Sam, still the leader, commented: “Now the good ones start to fall.”
But even for the remaining “good ones“, there is only one goal in sight: to be declared the winner. Some, like Larry, openly state that they will share the prize money, but not everyone believes they can trust Larry.
The composition of the team also came under discussion. There are now six men and only three women left. Tina said she’s taking it day by day. She and Iana begin to doubt if they can trust Geo, while Robert wonders if he can trust the women. Tina came to the conclusion that things are out of their hands. “We have no control,” she said when alliances were discussed again. And she’s right. Just when the players think their plans are in place, the producers throw another spanner in the works.
Episode 9’s title is “Opportunity“. This alludes to an option given to the players during the episode: You can get R100 000 now if you choose to leave the game. But there’s a catch – if more than one player decides they want to leave, the exiting players have to share the R100 000 among themselves.
And then the one player who has been talking throughout the entire episode about how he will share the prize money, is the one who seriously considers the offer – Larry. But will he really do it? And what cards do the producers still have up their sleeves for the last two episodes?
3 days left and 42m still to build.
