Wild orangutans are expected to face extinction within 50 years but despite this, they’re still being trafficked from the rainforests of Indonesia and Thailand. Baby orangutans are highly intelligent yet relatively passive primates that can be taught tricks and dressed up for special occasions – an irresistible combination for some wealthy buyers who want them as pets. This special investigation reveals a thriving multi-million dollar industry where these friendly animals are bought and sold openly on the internet. The stakes are high and the poachers are dangerous, but one conservationist is determined to put an end to the Baby Trade.
