Roodepoort Theatre Hosts The 2026 Johannesburg West Sasce Music Competitions

Roodepoort Theatre, in partnership with the Johannesburg West District Coordinating Committee, is proud to host the 2026 South African Schools Choral Eisteddfod (SASCE) Music Competitions from 9 to 11 June 2026.

SASCE is a school enrichment activity of the Department of Basic Education aimed at promoting unity in diversity, national reconciliation, positive values, and mass participation among school-going learners across South Africa. The Johannesburg West District has organised the 2026 competition at Roodepoort Theatre to introduce learners to the professional environment of the performing arts.

The three-day programme features competitions across Foundation Phase, Intermediate Phase, and Secondary Schools Soli sections, celebrating the musical talent of learners from across the Johannesburg West District.

Parents, guardians, and members of the public are encouraged to attend and support their learners.
