KLOP! Bows out after six seasons

kykNET&kie’s first talk show, Kô Laat Ons Praat, widely known as KLOP!, is concluding its sixth season, which will be its last. After more than 250 episodes, the programme will come to an end on Sunday 30 June.

Waldimar Pelser, M-Net Director of Premium Channels, says:

“kykNET thanks the producers, IdeaCandy, the presenters, and every member of the production team who has brought a programme full of inspiration and community stories to viewers weekly. Viewers can look forward to an exciting announcement at a later stage regarding a brand-new talk show.”

Heindrich Wyngaard, presenter of KLOP!, says the show has given him the wonderful privilege over the past six years to share coloured game changers, coloured achievers, coloured culture and coloured history with viewers. “My wish is that new platforms will be created to this end,” he says.

Throughout the years, the programme has had various field presenters, including Crystal-Donna Roberts, Renaldo Schwarp and Ephraim Gordon. Lyntjie Jaars joined as a presenter in 2023, says:

“Through KLOP!, I have learned that in the simplicity of life, there is a treasure waiting for you. Thank you very much for every treasure we could share weekly with wonderful viewers. Thank you for our stories, a platform of integrity and abundant blessings. Saying goodbye is bittersweet, but wherever we meet, we will xhorro [Nama for “talk”] and xhoulag [Nama for “laugh out loud”] together.”

Stephanie Pekeur, KLOP!’s content director, says the programme would never have worked without viewers who were willing to candidly share their life stories with us.

“I believe and trust that we have told these stories with compassion and that we have indeed celebrated people whose voices and stories have never been heard before,” she says. “No one has flair like the people who made KLOP! special. Keep on keeping on and keep talking, telling your story.”

Wynette Theart from IdeaCandy, says:

“It has been an exceptional privilege for us to produce KLOP! for six years. The warm and heartfelt feedback from viewers was a constant source of encouragement. Every guest on the distinctive yellow KLOP! couch has left a mark, and the programme’s legacy is deeply rooted in our hearts and the hearts of our viewers. And as Mr KLOP!, Heindrich Wyngaard, always says: ‘Be kind to yourself and be kind to others!’”
