Posduif Ignites Music Industry With New Single and Album Release

The wait is finally over because popular music group, Posduif, is back in the spotlight with a scorching new single and album that promises to please even the most critical ear.

Their latest offering, Brandstigter, was written by James Boland and Nick Jordaan and is already spreading through the industry like wildfire.

“It’s a Bonnie and Clyde tale of passion, young love, and losing yourself in the moment of being in love,” explains Boland. “It’s about that feeling you have when you meet someone who changes your whole world, that one person who ignites the fire within you.”

The group believes that the song will resonate with listeners because of its catchy, upbeat nature and because its passion can be felt in the music and melody.

“If you’re in love or have ever been in love, or dream of a wild love that makes you want to shout, if you know or want to know what it feels like to lose yourself in someone and break all the rules with them, then this song is for you,” they explain.

Brandstigter is also the titular track of Posduif’s brand-new album produced by Brendan Campbell. The single cleverly sums up what the rest of album is like – upbeat, energetic, passionate – and also encapsulates the group’s sentiment about the album.

Boland elaborates:

“We are all passionate and give it everything we’ve got. We chose Brandstigter as the title track and first single because it’s a song that captures that spirit, one that we want to play loud and proud, with a love story that we want everyone to experience.”

He adds:

“The album is a combination of lively, energetic music that tells stories of great parties, wild love, passionate infatuation, and a few missteps. It’s all about late-night parties, all-night dancing, bonfires, friends, and having a good time. We also touch on themes like caring, family, the heart’s deepest secrets, and the love we have for our children. It’s nine songs that take you on a journey, and each one represents a different piece of the puzzle – you have to listen to them all to experience the full story.”

According to Boland, it took them about a year to complete the album.

“It was a great project to work on, and we enjoyed every part of it. Writing is an incredible process where you can share a piece of your life, while production and recording are creative and exciting.”

Although most of the tracks were written by Boland and Jordaan with the other band member’s input, they have also collaborated with Nate Woodman, Marc Brendan, and Don Kelly (Lang Storie Kort).

Posduif was founded in 2018 and made their debut with the song Brandy Special, which garnered over 400 000 hits on social media. Since then, they have released several other hits and have been named Group of the Year and Song of the Year by Bok Radio. Their previous album, Niks Vergelyk, won the SAMA for Best Pop Album in 2022.

The group consists of Boland (lead singer and guitarist), Jordaan (rhythm guitarist and singer), Amiel Gopal (bassist), Campbell (producer and lead guitarist), and Nick McCreadie on drums.

With the release of their new album, they are looking forward to performing as much as possible, with two tours – one along the coast and one in Namibia – already on the cards. They are also working on two music videos.

“We are so excited to be able to share this new album and our stories with our fans,” says Boland about Brandstigter. “We are incredibly grateful that our music has been so well received so far and hope that people will enjoy the new album.”

Posduif also launched their new album with a fiery listening session to selected guests and media on 3 April at Whisk Wine Bar in Centurion.
