Catch PJ Morton live in SA this September for his “Cape Town To Cairo Tour”

Multi-Grammy-Award-Winning musician, singer, songwriter, record producer, and keyboardist in Maroon 5, PJ Morton, announces the Africa leg of his Cape Town To Cairo Tour which will see him live in South Africa, Ghana, Nigeria and Kenya. With three back-to-back dates in South Africa across three cities, PJ Morton’s return to the country follows his sold out concerts last October whilst he was recording his album now known as Cape Town To Cairo.

After the resounding success of his previous sold-out shows in the country, Morton is returning with a renewed passion, larger-than-life performances, and a connection to the country deeper than ever before.

The South African leg of the tour will span three cities, each promising a unique and intimate experience for fans. The journey begins on September 6th at the Concert Hall in Cape Town’s Baxter Theatre Centre, continues on September 7th at Durban’s iZulu Theatre at the Sibaya Casino & Entertainment Kingdom, and culminates in a vibrant afternoon set at Mushroom Farm Park in Sandton, Johannesburg, on September 8th.

For Morton, this tour is more than just a series of performances; it’s a homecoming to the place that sparked the creativity behind his latest album, Cape Town to Cairo.

“I really wanted to circle back to the place that inspired the new album,” says Morton. “It feels surreal to be right back to the place that I was in less than a year ago, writing a complete album. There’s just such a connection now. I’m looking forward to it.”

South African audiences can expect an even more dynamic experience than before, with a larger band and an energy that promises to elevate the live performance to new heights.

“They can expect an even bigger band. More energy and new music mixed in with all the other songs people love,” Morton adds.

The Johannesburg show will feature special performances by local talents Mandisi Dyantyis and Wandile Mbambeni, setting the stage for a celebration of the rich musical tapestry that South Africa offers. This collaboration highlights Morton’s deep respect and appreciation for South African artistry, making this tour a cultural exchange as much as it is a musical one.
