The race is on as Crown Chasers starts on S3

It’s time to get to know the next Miss South Africa title holder

The new season of Crown Chasers – the thrilling six-part reality series showing the Miss South Africa competition and what it really takes to win the crown – starts on S3 on Saturday (June 29) at 20h30 with a repeat on Sunday at 13h00.

It follows the contestants’ ups and downs and their fears, tears, laughs and joy as they edge closer to the moment when those left standing participate in the live grand finale at the SunBet Arena at Time Square in Pretoria on August 10 when one of them will take the Miss South Africa 2024 title.

During the course of the series, those competing for the crown will be placed in real life Miss South Africa scenarios that include a series of challenges based on the four pillars of Miss South Africa – duty, championship, empowerment and beauty.

And who better to host the series and take viewers along for the ride than reigning queen, Natasha Joubert, who knows exactly what this year’s contestants will face each week.

“Having taken part in Crown Chasers myself, I know exactly what challenges the contestants will face during this gruelling journey and how hard it can be. It’s a wonderful opportunity for South Africa to really get to know the person who will eventually take the crown and for the winner to understand what is expected of them during their reign, and realise that they are resilient and can achieve anything they set their minds to.”

In the first episode – Meet Your Crown Chasers – viewers will meet the Top 30 as they are put through their paces by the show’s resident judges, Leandie du Randt and Lerato Kganyago, as well as the CEO of the Miss South Africa Organisation, Stephanie Weil.

Weil is delighted with the new season of Crown Chasers and says:

“It’s going to be bigger and better than ever before and viewers are in for a real treat, as week by week they fall in love with this year’s contestants. There’ll be tears and laughter and joy and sadness – all the elements that go into making for great television viewing.”

Says Sane Zondi, S3 Channel Head:

“Last year, S3 introduced Crown Chasers, a lead into the Miss South Africa pageant to the channel offering, which saw the channel reaching the one million viewers mark which is a commendable achievement. We look forward to better achievements this year and have a few surprises in store for the S3 audiences with the new season. S3 wishes all the Miss South Africa 2024 hopefuls good luck with their journey and we cannot wait to see who reaches the finals.”

It’s time to meet the Top 30 contestants on S3 this Saturday evening, see what they are made of and discover who will be progressing to Episode 2 and ultimately who will take the crown from the current incumbent Natasha Joubert. Don’t miss it; it is compulsive viewing.

Crown Chasers thrilling six-part reality TV show starts on SABC3 on June 29, 2024, at 20h30 with repeats on Sundays at 13:00.
