Manfred Zipfel Releases “Colours of the Earth” – A Powerful Call to Conscious Living
South African multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer Manfred Zipfel releases his latest single, Colours of the Earth — a poignant, environmentally conscious release rooted in his core philosophy of Absolute Autonomy. The single is a part of a body of work released under the Absolute Autonomy series.
Written, composed, and performed entirely by Zipfel, the track is a deeply personal reflection on humanity’s relationship with the planet. Blending organic instrumentation with emotive storytelling, Colours of the Earth confronts the cost of human progress while offering a message of hope and responsibility. At its heart lies a striking question: “Will we remember the colours of the earth / Will we remember that we forgot its worth?”
Rather than leaning into despair, Zipfel uses the song to inspire awareness and positive change, reminding listeners that there is still time to act — “while there’s a rainbow in the sky.”
The release is anchored in Zipfel’s broader creative philosophy of Absolute Autonomy — a multi-layered artistic approach that rejects formulaic, trend-driven music in favour of authenticity and independent thought. In an era increasingly shaped by automation, Zipfel remains committed to crafting music by hand, recording live instrumentation and avoiding AI-generated composition to preserve the raw, ambient honesty of performance.
Operating from his self-built project studio in Gauteng, Zipfel writes, produces, and performs nearly every element of his music. His process is intuitive and organic, allowing each instrument — from acoustic guitar to percussion — to contribute equally to the emotional narrative.
Colours of the Earth not only reflects the fragile beauty of our environment but also embodies a deeper call for listeners to reconnect with their own independent voice — a central aim of the Absolute Autonomy concept.
With a catalogue spanning from his debut The Manfred Project to international documentary scoring work such as African Odyssey – A Photographer’s Journey, Zipfel continues to create music that resonates beyond entertainment — music that invites reflection, connection, and conscious living.
