Coming to DStv from 13 June at 21:00 on M-Net (DStv Channel 101), Mzansi Wethu (DStv Channel 163) on 14 June at 21:00 and on Mzansi Magic (DStv Channel 161) on 17 June at 21:30, the documentary shows how growing up in an era where the spirit of independence was sweeping across Africa shaped Letele’s vision for the continent to have its own voice – and how he worked tirelessly to realise that vision.
The documentary charts his path from electronic engineering graduate and the challenges faced by black professionals in apartheid South Africa, to how his work in Lesotho and subsequent appointment at M-Net demonstrate his commitment to African storytelling and broadcast development and how he progressed to MultiChoice Group Chief Executive and MultiChoice South Africa Holdings Executive Chair.
The 60-minute documentary includes insights and tributes from everyone from Nolo’s wife Thos and other family members to M-Net & MultiChoice founders Cobus Stofberg and Koos Bekker. Adding their voices are luminaries including current MultiChoice Group CEO Calvo Mawela; H.E. Mandla Langa, SA High Commissioner to Cameroon; former M-Net CEO Lazarus Zim; Orbicom CEO Jock Anderson; former MultiChoice non-executive Chairman Imtiaz Patel; and CEOs, directors, partners and chairs from MultiChoice in Uganda, Kenya, Nigeria and Ghana.
