North Beach Amphitheatre in Durban is filled with young hopefuls who say they are all here to win this seasons Idols SA competition!

First in line is George Mbhele. He worked as a cleaner and decided this year he is trying something new. He is 19 years old and is auditioning for the first time. He will sing Ed Sheeran, Perfect. He loves music, drama and sketching. George loves RNB, comes from Inanda White City and lives with his mom and two brothers.

Skhumbuzo  Shange is 30 years old and auditioning with John Legend’s So High. He is from Umlazi, lives with his two kids. “My first love was soccer but people said I was talented at singing and my love for music grew, today I’m auditioning for the third time.

Nomcebo Nguni is 18 years old and is from Sweetwaters in Pietermaritzburg. “I present, I act and I wrote a song for my mother which I performed for her. I’m part of a girl group but we haven’t performed together yet. I will be auditioning with Shekhinah’s Rose Gold. Shine you are meant for greatness. Always work at getting better.”

Mazwi Ngcongo is 20 years old and auditioning with Brenda Fassie’s Vulindlela. He lives with his gran and uncle. He loves all genres of music especially RNB and soul. “Music brings hope, music is life. Music allows me to get whatever message I have across. I’m shy but when I sing I’m not, I deliver. When I wake up I sing, I’m surrounded with music. My Gran sings and my uncle used to be in a band.

Kholeka Mbatha is 21 years old. She will be singing Rihanna’s We Found Love. It’s her first time auditioning . Home is Folweni where she lives with her mom and three sisters. “If Idols doesn’t work out I’m going to go back to working at the call centre. When I sing it feels like the world is still and listening to me. It’s magical. It feels like the world is waiting to hear what I have to say.

Nhlanhla Ndaba is from Lamonville. He is 21 years old. Nhlanhla is auditioning for the 3rd time. He will be performing Ed Sheeran’s song Perfect. “Everyone around me will tell you that I love music. I’m also a backup singer, a lady at church organises people for us to back up. I love Jazz and hope to be a Jazz vocalist.

Meet Nosipho Maphumulo, she is 27 years old and is auditioning with Beyoncé’s Listen. “Music completes me. When you have a passion keep pushing.

Siphokazi Zungu is 21 years old. Her stage name is Psyphor. She is auditioning for the 4th time and will be singing her own song called Learn. She is into Rap. Siphokazi lives with her mom, brother and nephew. “I have a barbershop at home that is doing very well and is supporting my family. I love music and I am looking forward to the fame and money.

Glenda Stanley is 29 years old and is auditioning for the first time. She is from Mayville. She currently works at a call centre and loves everything about music. “If I’m feeling down and out music makes me feel ok. Never allow fear to hold you back, I’m shy but growing out of that shell.” Glenda will audition with Arianna Grande’s Almost Is Never Enough.

Onesimo Hlongwa is 28 years old. She will sing Stand Up for Love By Destiny’s Child. It is her first time auditioning. “I can dance, I wish to act and I would like to have a reality show one day.

Lethukuthula Dludla is 19 years old and is from Newlands. It’s his first time auditioning. “Apart from singing I play instruments and I act, I’ve won a few awards for my acting at school. I will audition with K-LO’s Song

Singapure Mthembu is 19 years old. He is a musician full time. He does a lot of jam sessions at hotels. He regards himself as a hustlepreneur. “I am all about Positivity”. He is from Jozini. It’s his first time auditioning because he didn’t have money for transport previously.
