Can you trust the banker on Deal or No Deal South Africa? Based on what will be going down on the final episode of the massively popular show’s star-studded Saturday night spin-off, it’s evident that the mysterious personality with the money purse has some sneaky tricks up his sleeve.

For an entire year, the show’s beloved host, Katlego Maboe, had been relaying the banker’s offers to buy the briefcases picked by the celebrities playing the exhilarating game of chance. However, with formidable television and radio host Hulisani Ravele in the house, the banker flips the script, demanding to speak to her without Kat being the middleman.

The plot thickens when Kat is on the receiving end of a huge surprise. How versed is he in playing the game? What will happen if he is tasked to choose a briefcase and perhaps even spend some time in the hot seat?

In Deal or No Deal Celebrity, the famous Mzansi personalities in the hot seat put their hearts on the line to raise funds for charities of their choice. To date, over R2 million has been funnelled to non-profit organisations, courtesy of the show’s proud sponsor, LottoStar.

With strategic gameplay and some luck, Rorisang Thandekiso and Pearl Modiadie hit the R250,000 jackpot for Paediatric Care Africa and the Tshepang Care Centre, respectively.

Among the other big-name stars who have struck impressive deals for their charities include sports presenter Vusiwe Ncgobo, who won R176,001 for Surgeons for Little Lives. 947 radio star Bolela Polisa also bagged R100,000 for Imagine Scholar, while influencer Khosi Twala’s R100,000 went to Hearts of Hope.

Which charity will benefit from the surprises in store in the not-to-be-missed Deal or No Deal Celebrity, which premieres on SABC1 on Saturday, 1 March at 18:00. You can also catch the rebroadcasts on S3 on Sunday, 2 March at 12:00 and SABC 1 on Tuesday 4 March 2025 at 22:00.
