Fool’s Errand and Daphne Kuhn present 2LOVERS – A Comedy About Heartbreak

On the battlefield of love we have all been the victor and the vanquished. 2Lovers, winner of an Ovation Award and nominee for the Scribe Playwriting Award, tells the story of a relationship from the first flush of love to that awkward moment when you meet an old lover unexpectedly in a public place.

Playing at the Theatre on the Square, Sandton from 28 May to 15 June 2Lovers explores the complexities of love and long term relationships. The play is directed by Naledi and Gold Ovation Award Winner Craig Morris and stars Tessa Jubber of Isidingo fame and Ter Hollmann, who also wrote the play.

The piece tells a familiar story with a fresh and bold approach. The Cue Newspaper said of the play:

“Although 2Lovers feels similar to many romance stories, Naledi Award-winner, Morris, and his production team do an excellent job at crafting new angles through the characters of Annabel (Tessa Jubber) and Dave (Ter Hollmann).”

The writer Ter Hollmann explains his thinking behind the piece:

“I wanted to tell a romantic break up story where the audience left with a smile on their face. I wanted it to be a true representation of all the things people experience in a relationship from that first flush of love, to its slow waning and eventual burning out. My hope is that people watch the show and go, I recognize that.”
