Lorna is in KwaZulu-Natal with singer-songwriter Khaya Mthethwa to explore Durban’s food scene. Together, they go segway riding along the Durban promenade near Moses Mabhida Stadium, before indulging in a picnic at the scenic Sun Coast Beach.

Lorna joins up with Thandazile Mbeje, farmer of KwamaNdlovu’s Vegetables, to learn all about the tasty hero ingredient Amadumbe. She even plants a few whilst she’s there!

Located just outside of Hillcrest in Durban, Lorna visits a small organic farm called Farm to Forks, where she meets Dale Grobler, a rainbow maize producer who enlightens her about rainbow maize and its array of spectacular colours.

For her final dish using the hero ingredients, Lorna prepares a beautifully plated amadumbe gnocchi dish for Khaya to enjoy.
