Here’s what Khan and Ramafoko had to say about their time on Crown Chasers and why you should vote for them to be included in the Top 10:

How has your Miss South Africa journey been to date?

Kebalepile Ramafoko (KR): It has been absolutely incredible and has surpassed all my expectations. This journey means more to me than I could have ever imagined, offering a platform that can open many doors and allow me to make a significant impact on others’ lives. It hasn’t been easy, but it’s been worth every moment. The growth I’ve experienced is immense, and I’m grateful I took this leap of faith.

Kirsten Khan (KK): It’s been an extremely transformational experience for me. From the highs to the lows, it had me tapping into a sense of resilience and courage like I never did before, and I know very few business roles require. I loved working with the production team, sponsors and our amazing hair and makeup team. The incredible Miss South Africa Organisation provides such a safe space where I could be my authentic self and felt empowered from within. Getting to know the other 15 finalists has provided a growth platform on its own because I’ve learned so much from them through their viewpoints and perspectives on life.

There were extremely tough times that required a lot more courage and adaptability than I expected, and at times, I surprised myself with my inner strength and capabilities. But it was all so worth it in the end.

What was the best and worst things that happened during the journey?

KR: The best thing that happened during this journey was meeting my role model, Bonang Matheba. Her speech felt like it was directed right at me, reminding me to keep working towards my goals. Also, meeting Yvonne Johnston from Fast Forward Coaching. Her sessions gave me a better perspective on life. She’s an amazing woman, and I hope to continue collaborating with her. On the flip side, being sick and not performing my best led to being placed in the bottom too many times. It felt like the judges didn’t fully trust me to have this crown, which was frustrating.

KK: I was fortunate to have had tremendous assistance from the Miss South Africa Organisation as they provided me with a platform from where I can be a voice and advocate for a cause that is deeply personal and close to my heart. I also enjoyed the Forever New Capsule Collection challenge as it allowed me to tap into my love for fashion. I enjoyed the go-karting challenge and the adrenaline rush. I loved being spoiled by all our sponsors and I loved our trip to Sun City. The worst part was not having my own personal space. Having time to recharge on my own is something that I’m used to and need. The content creation was more difficult than expected and I wish I had showcased myself and who I am more fully to the public and the judges as I feel South Africa saw a more reserved side to me and I would have loved for them to see who I really am.

Would you do it all over again?

KR: Absolutely. Despite the challenges, the lessons learned and the growth experienced have been worth every moment. This journey is about more than just a title; it’s about making a lasting impact and creating a brighter future for the next generation who are the future leaders of our country.

KK: I would do it all over again if given the opportunity. The last couple of weeks has allowed me to highlight areas of improvement that would enable me to come back stronger than before for the final stretch leading up to the big day.

What have you learnt about yourself?

KR: I have learned three invaluable lessons that reflect the character I strive to embody and hope to impart to young girls facing their own challenges. Firstly, perseverance is key. If you have a dream and are passionate about something, life will throw obstacles and challenges your way to test your faith, belief and commitment to the process. Secondly, resilience is essential. Challenges are a part of life, but it’s how we respond to them that defines us. It is what will carry you through tough times and help you achieve your goals. Lastly, authenticity matters. When you are genuine and dedicated, your commitment shines through, and you can inspire others to do the same.

KK: * I learnt so much about myself especially throughout our self-mastery sessions with Yvonne Johnston from Fast Forward Coaching. I now know that I have it within me to achieve any goal I set for myself if I align my thoughts and actions towards reaching it. I’ve learnt the power the words I speak upon my life have towards the way in which my life unfolds because what you confess is what you possess. Words of affirmation, telling myself that I am worth it, I am beautiful, and I can carry that crown with the poise, resilience, and strength it should be carried with. These types of affirmations that will allow me to have full confidence in my abilities. I also learnt how to be more present and how essential being adaptable is in terms of becoming Miss South Africa as you will sometimes be placed way outside of your comfort zone and you must have it within you to continuously push through and overcome your obstacles.

How was it participating in Crown Chasers?

KR: It was not what I expected. I had no idea I had it in me to be a reality TV star. Participating in Crown Chasers has given me a deeper appreciation for the dedication and effort that goes into producing a show of this calibre. It really gives more insight into what it takes to be a Miss South Africa, and I myself am grateful to have been part of the experience. The challenges pushed me out of my comfort zone, revealing potential and talents I didn’t even know I had.

KK: It was a completely new experience for me. I learned to be extremely adaptable and to fully immerse myself within the experience and learnt the importance of teamwork. The Crown Chasers journey prepares us for the role as Miss South Africa and tests how much we can endure as “heavy is the head that wears the crown”. I believe it is just as important for the judges and audience to see as it is for us to experience. We are placed in a position where we question ourselves as to whether we can keep up with all the obligations that this job entails and do it well.

Why should viewers vote to keep you in the race?

KR: Viewers should vote for me because I embody resilience, passion and a commitment to making a difference in our community. Throughout my Miss South Africa journey, I have showcased not just my capabilities, but my heart and dedication to important causes like education, sports empowerment and mental health awareness. I am passionate about creating opportunities for young girls and boys, ensuring they have the resources and support to pursue their dreams, just as I have pursued mine. You should vote for me because I embody the spirit of resilience and aspiration that South Africa holds dear. As a young woman who represents everyone who dares to dream beyond limitations. By voting for me, you are supporting a vision of a South Africa where every young person has the chance to shine, regardless of their background or circumstances. My journey is a testament to the power of persistence, faith, and the unwavering belief that we can all make a difference.

KK: People should vote for me because I embody the capabilities to take on the role of Miss South Africa and excel. I stand for equality for all and believe that through my advocacy and passion, I will play my part in bridging the gap between the rich and the poor. I want to help create a more inclusive country where all children are given equal opportunities to shine and reach their. I believe I have everything within me to be the next Miss South Africa and want to showcase that on August 10, as I confidently stand and embrace why I am a proudly South African woman who wants to do our country and its people proud.
