Ben Rodrigues Shares More Of His Heart With New Single

Ben Rodrigues is stepping into the next chapter of his music journey with his new single, Back To You (Searching For Me) – his first faith-based song. An anthemic, acoustic pop track veiled behind lyrics that speak to love and relationships, whether with a partner, or with God.

“My faith has always been a big part of who I am as a person and an artist,” Ben shares. “I always try and share pieces of my faith in everything I do, so it felt like a natural progression that my faith would start reflecting in my music.”

The new single was originally inspired by the story of the Prodigal Son from the Bible.

“As Christians, we can distance ourselves from God. That can feel like he might hate us, but the truth is, he’s been searching for us the whole time, and no matter when we return, he will welcome you with open arms. I loved that this was the same love we should have in our relationships with others.”

The open interpretation paired with the sounds of a love song makes it one that anyone can enjoy, regardless of their specific faith.

“I know I have a lot of listeners who don’t believe what I believe, which is why i decided to make this song like this. It can be enjoyed by everyone and still holds the importance of my faith.”

Ben’s excitement for this new direction is palpable.

“I think God’s got an awesome plan for the future of my music, and I can’t wait to see what He does with it!”

Besides sharing a part of himself through his music, Ben has a highly engaged community across social media where he brings his audience along on the journey with him. His latest journey took him over to the USA for the Portuguese Music Awards, where he won Best New Talent, but he was also on that side to work on new music.

“I went to New York and Nashville to write some new music with some really talented writers and artists out there.”

In search of new collaborations and energy to inject into the music, the trip was successful.

“We wrote about 5 amazing songs that I’m so stoked for. It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”

Another chapter awaits Ben in his personal life as he recently announced his engagement on social media. When asked how falling in love has influenced his career,

“I’m definitely writing a lot more love songs. Been a long time since my last breakup song,” he shares with a laugh. “It’s just nice to know you have someone who has your back. My life is full of emotional and career rollercoasters, and I have a lot more peace and happiness with her by my side.”
