The Winelands plays host to Lorna Maseko this week with celebrity guest, singer and comedian Tracy-Lee Oliver as the two learn everything there is to know about South African cheese and wine.

Their first stop takes them on a breath-taking tour around the Franschhoek Valley to discover the essence of world-class cuisine and fine wines via the legendary Franschhoek Wine Tram. After making their way through the vineyards, they experience a taste of the exquisite Grande Provence Heritage Wine Estate Restaurant.

Guest Chef Charné Sampson takes Lorna on a cutting-edge cooking demo at the fine dining restaurant Epice Restaurant, where she puts a special twist on a delectable dish using the episode’s hero ingredients, buffalo mozzarella and wine.

Lorna then meets the team at Zandam Cheese, a cheese manufacturer in Cape Town and follows that up with a trip to Stark-Condé Wines to get an insight into the production of wine.

Lorna uses the hero ingredients to prepare a delectable pinotage mince skillet with buffalo mozzarella, magwinyas (doughnuts) and spinach pesto.
