Sunset Music Series presents Spoegwolf and Kurt Darren live
Picture this: the sun dipping low over the majestic Witpoortjie Waterfall, the sprawling lawns of the Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden buzzing with families, friends, and music lovers. Blankets spread out, picnic baskets unpacked, the sound of laughter mingling with the warm notes of live music drifting through the air. This is the magic of the Sunset Music Series, and on Sunday 26 October 2025, it’s turning up the volume with two South African music powerhouses — Spoegwolf and Kurt Darren — sharing the stage for an unmissable afternoon.
Spoegwolf, known for their poetic lyricism, electrifying stage presence, and chart-topping hits like Storm and Lenie Blou, will bring their signature blend of heartfelt storytelling and high-energy performance to the gardens. Sharing the bill is Afrikaans pop icon Kurt Darren, whose infectious hits such as Kaptein and Hemel op Tafelberg are guaranteed to have the crowd singing and dancing along. Adding to the stellar line-up is the soulful Aya Nixon, bringing her unique sound to set the tone for the day.

While no alcohol may be brought in, fully stocked bars and a variety of delicious food vendors will be available on-site. Your own food is welcome.

Designed to be family-friendly and inclusive, the Sunset Music Series is a celebration of both local artistry in this spectacular natural setting. Future editions will expand to six or more concerts annually, catering to a wide range of musical tastes and audiences.
Important things to note:
- No Own Drinks Allowed. Bars will be provided.
- Your Own Food and Picnic Baskets or Bags are allowed. We have Limited Food Vendors.
- No Hard Cooler boxes or Glass is allowed.
- Camp chairs and Picnic Blankets are welcome. Tables are NOT allowed.
- Small umbrellas are allowed but must be positioned at the back of the venue.
- Gazebos are not allowed.
- Children under 5 enter Free
