SABC 2 Celebrates Wilson B. Nkosi’s 40 Years In Broadcasting
The South African Broadcasting Corporation’s (SABC) television channel, SABC 2, The heartbeat of the nation, will broadcast a special documentary titled Wilson B. Nkosi on Sunday, 10 May 2026 at 21H30. The documentary honours legendary broadcaster, Wilson B. Nkosi, as he clocks a remarkable 40-year milestone in the broadcasting industry.
The name Wilson B. Nkosi is synonymous with South African radio. Since the launch of Radio Metro (now METRO FM) in 1986, Nkosi has captivated audiences with his unique voice, style and presence. At just 19 years old, he stepped into the world of broadcasting and within a year, television embraced his talent as well. Over the decades, he has become a household name, presenting entertainment and educational shows, hosting METRO FM’s most listened-to radio show, Sounds and Stuff Like That as well as performing as a DJ and MC across the length and breadth of South Africa.
The documentary chronicles The Life and Times of Wilson B. Nkosi, focusing on where he comes from, his childhood, the people who shaped and influenced his thinking and those who inspired him to pursue a career in broadcasting.
