Country singer-songwriter Phil Gregory returns with Heart & Soul, a six-track EP that explores the many sides of relationships — from passion and impulse to heartbreak, healing, and lasting commitment.
Known for his honest storytelling and melodic British country sound, Gregory’s latest release reflects on the moments that shape us: the sparks that ignite quickly, the relationships that change us deeply, and the love that sometimes finds us when we least expect it.
The EP opens with “Number on My Mind,” a track driven by raw attraction and desire. It captures the urgency and intensity of physical chemistry.
The title track, “Heart & Soul,” takes a very different turn. It reflects on the emotional aftermath of divorce and the slow, painful process of rebuilding a life. It’s honest and vulnerable.
In between those two emotional poles, the EP moves through a range of relationship stories:
- “Footprint” tells the story of a fleeting holiday romance — a moment in time that felt significant but disappeared as quickly as it arrived.
- “Can’t Resist” captures the magic of love at first sight and the immediate connection between two people.
- “If You Ever Change Your Name” explores the courage it takes to ask someone to share a future together.
- “Nowhere for Our Love to Hide,” written during the pandemic, tells the story of two people forced by circumstance to live together rather than apart — only to discover it was the best thing that could have happened to them.
The songs were developed through Phil’s ongoing songwriting collaboration with his nephew Billy Gregory, blending personal reflection with universal themes that resonate widely.
Phil Gregory has steadily built a reputation for heartfelt country music with crossover appeal. His previous releases, including the album ‘Good Intentions‘ and the EP ‘22: Not Out‘, showcased his ability to pair strong melodies with relatable storytelling.
