Breakout Events announces Myles Smith’s highly anticipated debut South African tour this August

Breakout Events is thrilled to announce that Myles Smith, the immensely talented singer-songwriter and DIY phenomenon from Luton, London, will embark on his debut tour of South Africa in August 2024.

Myles Smith’s profile has risen meteorically over the past year. Drawing inspiration from a diverse array of artists including Green Day, Ben Howard, Labrinth, and UK Rap, Myles has crafted a unique sound that resonates with a wide audience.

Local favourite, Craig Lucas will be joining the line-up for both the Cape Town and Johannesburg concerts.

Myles’ musical journey began with humble open mic nights and support slots, where he honed his craft before releasing his own music. Finding solace in music, he used it to navigate and make sense of life’s complexities. This journey of self-discovery and emotional expression has culminated in his mantra, ‘It’s okay to feel,’ which he extends to his fans through what he affectionately calls ‘Group Therapy.’

From the age of nine, Myles has been playing the guitar and is now celebrated for his streaming sensations ‘Solo‘ and ‘My Home‘. His dedication and unique sound have earned him a dedicated fanbase, with 135 million streams, over 600k followers on Instagram, 6.3 million monthly listeners on Spotify, and almost 850k followers on TikTok.

Speaking about his debut EP, Myles said,

“This title represents a profound, yet neutral statement, which gains meaning through the perspective of the person reading it. With the project, my own stories, and the stories of those around me were used to create it, but it’s the stories and journeys of those listening who truly give it life, depending on where you are in life and what you are feeling. I hope it gives space to people to unlock their own meanings.”

Myles Smith’s tour of South Africa is set to be an unforgettable experience, marking a significant milestone in his burgeoning career. Fans can look forward to experiencing his heartfelt and emotive performances live for the first time on South African soil.
