Jingle Bell Bites with Hilary Biller & Jan Kohler
What’s better that one beloved Joburg food personality hosting a festive cooking workshop? The answer is two dynamic Jozi bon vivants!
Well-known cookbook author, culinary writer and food personality Hillary Biller (of The Sunday Times and formerly The Star’s Angela Day) will be joining Jan Kohler in a not-to-be-missed Christmas food feast, Jingle Bell Bites, where they will be sharing some of their favourite recipes.
Says Biller:
“Jan and I will be sharing new Christmas food ideas which are perfect for a South African summer. Our menu is complete with cocktails, starters, main dishes and delectable desserts.”
Jan Kohler is a self-taught cook, food blogger and the author of Pink Gin and Fairy Cakes and Celebrations who loves entertaining and sharing her top tips with others:
“We will be showing lots of make-ahead options too so home cooks won’t be frantic on the day.”
The menu comprises:
- Spiced pear Bellini on arrival.
- Homemade gingerbread biscuits with whipped blue cheese parfait (and other cheeses) for snacking on.
- Decadent egg mousse with devilled prawns served with homemade Melba toast.
- Festive ham with Rex Union marmalade glaze.
- Moroccan-style spatchcock turkey with saffron onions, cinnamon and nuts.
