MOTY 2021 – Role Models for a New Era
GQ South Africa’s Men of The Year Awards 2021 to salute those leaders of the pack who never stop or settle and who are an inspiration to others
Cape Town, 21 November 2021 – The GQ Men of the Year Awards will take place on 27 November 2021 at Four Seasons Hotel, The Westcliff. The GQ Men of The Year Awards returns for the third year, in association with Hennessy V.S.O.P. Privilège. Affectionately known as “MOTY”, it is a prestigious ceremony recognising those men and women who inspire, lead, and shape our cultural landscape.
GQ Editor-in-Chief, Molife Kumona, says:
“2021 has been an exceptional year. Whilst we were still navigating a pandemic, there have been a lot of significant cultural moments and a group of individuals who have risen above the chaos to excel and inspire those around them.”
“In publicly acknowledging them, we are looking share their message far and wide so as to influence – for the better – creating what we hope will be a ripple effect on South African society at large.”
Kumona also alluded to several surprises that will be on store for those invited to the event and for viewers, who can watch the proceedings online, as the awards will be freely live streamed on GQ South Africa’s YouTube channel.

- The Hennessy VSOP Privilège Lifetime Achievement Award.
