GQ Best Dressed Awards 2021:  Winners announced

Johannesburg. 16 October – The ultra-stylish GQ Best Dressed Awards were held at the Mall of Africa in Waterfall City on Saturday 16th October, with a glamorous turn out of some of South Africa’s most influential individuals and industry pundits offsetting the glitzy event.

Winners on the night, who were deemed to be the epitome of ‘personal style’, consisted of five reader-voted winners and the balance selected from a panel of judges involving GQ’s editors and past winners.

Explaining what it takes to make the GQ Best Dressed list, GQ Editor-in-Chief Molife Kumona said: “Tonight’s winners not only exemplify and own their particular personal style, but they have each demonstrated how when life throws challenges, at them, they have what it takes to rise above circumstances and continue to put their best foot forward – inside and out.  We are delighted to celebrate them and this occasion and hope that it in doing so, their stylish cachet can be shared to with South Africans everywhere.”

GQ South Africa teamed up with proud partners Lexus South Africa, Mall of Africa and Scottish Leader to showcase the country’s most stylish trendsetters right now.

Proud partners included: The Surtee Group, Hugo Boss, Sorbet Man, Ephymol, Roses and Nono Events.

Of this year’s main partnership, Thabo Smouse, Manager of Special Projects & Product Communications at Lexus South Africa says the luxury brand is proud to be associated with the most stylish awards in the calendar.

Event attendees were treated to Scottish Leader’s limited edition couture cocktails whipped up by a liquid alchemist, better known as the Masked Mixologist.

Previous winners of the awards have been rapper Cassper Nyovest, sports star Siya Kolisi, entertainer DJ Tira, and actor Vuyo Dabula among others.
