The Empathy for Breakfast Show Relaunches on 30 March 2021.
South African guests include Zola Nene and Debi Stevens.
The Empathy for Breakfast Show is being relaunched on 30 March 2021, with this season including guests from all over the world. The innovative online show, hosted by bestselling author and empathy leader Mimi Nicklin, began during the first lockdown in 2020. Designed to provide inspiration and upliftment to people during this unsettling time, the show was shot from Mimi’s bedroom and reached over 75,000 people.
In the first two seasons of the show, one 17 minute episode was broadcast live every Tuesday morning, designed to be a snappy dose of insight to help start the day, after which the show was available online. The new season’s episodes will release purely online in a podcast / video-cast format, enabling viewing on multiple streaming platforms and more flexibility for global audiences. One episode will release per week.
The new season will continue to bring to life candid conversations about the importance of empathy and understanding in our tumultuous and disconnected world. Mimi will host experts, professionals and well-known faces from across the globe to lead insightful, mind-changing conversations over a cup of tea or breakfast.
South African celebrity chef Zola Nene will feature on the show as her and Mimi discuss how food can bring people together and increase mutual understanding. Debi Steven from the nonprofit organization Action Breaks Silence will share her experience in the field of gender based violence. International guests include HH Sayida Basma, Shayamal Vallabhjee, Suresh Raj, Sayyida Basma, Jan Gerber and Sharon Steed. Together, they discuss how we can all work towards a more connected, cohesive and understanding world to drive a thirty-year decline in empathy upwards.
“Our mission is to get the world familiar with, talking about and aware of what empathy is and why need it. I deeply believe that the more the world talks about empathy, the more empathy we will have. There has never been a time when we need it more than now” says Nicklin.
With a deep belief that “we are more alike than we are different” The Empathy for Breakfast Show will uniquely unpack the human stories and experience of business leaders, creatives and trailblazers globally, leading us all to all to a deeper curiosity and insight into our people and our world.
