Comic Con Cape Town with Capitec Welcomes Legendary Voice Actor Christopher Sabat

Comic Con Cape Town is excited to announce that renowned voice actor, director, and producer Christopher Sabat will be attending the event from Friday, 1 May to Sunday, 3 May, at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC 2) proudly hosted by the City of Cape Town.

Chris is a true icon of the anime world, best known for voicing some of the genre’s most legendary characters. His credits include the proud Saiyan prince Vegeta (Dragon Ball Z), the stoic swordsman Roronoa Zoro (One Piece), the world’s greatest hero All Might (My Hero Academia), and the slightly tipsy yet formidable Yami Sukehiro (Black Clover). His work has helped define anime for generations of fans across the globe.

For South African audiences, Sabat’s appearance is especially meaningful. Dragon Ball Z played a pivotal role in shaping the local anime community, becoming a cultural touchstone during its early broadcasts on SABC 2, where it introduced a generation of fans to anime and fandom culture. That legacy continues to resonate today, making Sabat’s attendance a landmark moment for long-time fans and new audiences alike.

Beyond the recording booth, Sabat has played a pivotal role in shaping the English-dub anime landscape. He served as the English dub voice director for Dragon Ball Z and is the founder of Okratron 5000, a leading audio production company responsible for some of the most recognisable anime dubs in the industry.

During his time at Comic Con Cape Town, Christopher Sabat will take part in a range of fan-focussed experiences, offering attendees the chance to celebrate his career and connect with one of anime’s most influential voices.

Fans can look forward to engaging panel sessions where Chris will share behind-the-scenes insights from his extensive career, stories from the recording studio, and reflections on bringing iconic characters to life.
