Cameras, cages, cops: why is this highway still one of the most dangerous in the country? It’s been dubbed the Hell Run: the N2 between Cape Town’s City Bowl and the Cape Town International Airport has been a crime hotspot for decades. But in recent months, attacks have been on the rise. The target: commuters, tourists and business travellers. The perpetrators: unpredictable and elusive. Carte Blanche meets the traumatised victims, joins the Ghost Squad on a late shift, and sits down with the City to discuss its controversial plan.

Tsitsikamma Dreaming
Two strangers, from backgrounds that could not be more different, united in friendship. And in the meeting of two worlds, a dream is realised… Four years ago, two women met by chance in the remote wilderness of the Tsitsikamma National Park. One, a survivor of civil war; the other, recovering from a life-changing injury. They shared food and stories, and a bond was forged. And out of it emerged a memoir: the culmination of a journey of survival, and a testament to the power of an unlikely friendship.
