DURBAN LIT UP BY THE CANNABIS EXPO: The largest cannabis event opened today in KZN
Durban, South Africa: Durban is officially buzzing, with people streaming into the Sun Park expo centre at Sibaya for The Cannabis Expo, the biggest cannabis event on the African continent.
“It’s great to be in Durban,” says expo organiser, Silas Howarth. “There was a line of people waiting to get in before doors opened this morning, which means we are going to have a busy weekend ahead at The Cannabis Expo.”
Visitors to the expo have been treated to a wide range of cannabis-related products and services, from cannabis-infused dog treats and Durban Poison Beer to cannabis grow lights and soils and a vast array of cannabis business services and healthcare providers.
Michael Arendsen from BioLeaf Technologies, cannabis growing product specialists says Durban is a welcoming crowd, “The visitors here are eager to learn. There’s lots of curiosity and questions.”
The Convention Stage saw a packed audience listening to talks from cannabis industry leaders, who then flocked to the Cannabis Food Market to try a CBD-infused vegan burger washed down with a canna-cocktail. A first for The Cannabis Expo, there is even cannabis bunny chow on offer.
“It has been a really warm welcome here in Durban, which is what we’re accustomed to with The Cannabis Expo, says Scott Simpson from Atami, a leading supplier of soil specifically designed for growing cannabis. “It’s been nice and busy for the first day.”
“The response has been amazing, and a lot more people than I ever imagined, it’s going to be an amazing weekend,” says CannaCoffee founder Wayne Farrell.
