Supa Mega in Sun City’s super charged Big 40 line-up.

Sun City has lined up 14 of South Africa’s top artists for its Big 40 Birthday Party on 7 December 2019. Amongst them is the one and only Supa Mega, AKA.

“AKA is just about as big as it gets on the SA music scene so it is fitting that he is on the bill for our biggest event of the year,” says Lameez Suliman, PR & Communications Manager at Sun City.

AKA, who needs no introduction, joins MC, Somizi, and the likes of Goodluck, Sho Madjozi, Prince Kaybee, DJ Christos, Vinny da Vinci and DJ Tira at The Big 40 After Party. This takes place at the resort’s Sun Arena and is bound to make for an experience which will go down in history.

He has grown to become one of the most significant hip hop artists in Africa and Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, known by his stage name AKA, is respected for his contribution to the growth of hip hop and the foundation of a legacy in Africa.  Born and raised in Cape Town, Western Cape, AKA gained significance after releasing his single “Victory Lap” which was released from his debut album, Alter Ego.  Other studio albums released by this dynamic artist include Levels, Touch My Blood and the collaborative album, Be Careful What You Wish For which he recorded alongside Anatii.

In April last year, AKA was featured as a special guest on WWE Live events which were held in Johannesburg and Cape Town and as for this year, his more humorous side showed when he was the “roastee” for the Comedy Central Roast special.

Performing at The Big 40 Birthday Party at Valley of Waves, prior to the The Big 40 After Party are Kwesta, Shekhinah, Dr Victor & The Rasta Rebels, Kurt Darren and Mi Casa.  A special lively production showcasing the resort’s history, culminating with a dazzling fireworks display is also on the cards. Local band, Soulmajestik, and Sun City’s very own Segaetsho Dynasty will also share the stage with these top South African artists.
