Father & daughter team Kirsten & Detlev headed home after failing to impress in the beach burger blowout in Sunday’s episode of My Kitchen Rules SA. The duo garnered the least ‘People’s Choice’ votes and shed a few tears when saying goodbye and thanked everyone for the ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ opportunity.

Kirsten weighs in on their elimination, “MKRSA was an incredible experience that we got to share as father and daughter. The competition challenged our creative and cooking skills and how we work as a team. I had no doubt that we would do well with our positive energy, cooking strategy and good communication. We learnt so much in the kitchen, such as new techniques and recipes, and also learnt a lot about ourselves and each other. I’m disappointed to have left the competition so early because I feel we had so much more to offer! I’m bummed because I was having so much fun doing this with my dad,”.

Kirsten & Detlev look to serve up a symphony of German & Turkish-influenced flavours in their instant Homage To Ömi. Read more about here.

Come 11 December, one of the 10 pairs of this season’s home cooks will walk away with R1 million!
